To me, nature is still there to be discovered. The moment it takes you by surprise. When you're lost for words, it's good to have a camera to capture the feeling.
Just take a look in your back garden. If you're willing, you can venture into a world unknown. A grasshopper jumping the gap between two leaves, a bird trying to catch it. A caterpillar crushing a plant stem between its powerful jaws. Dewdrops on a spider's web. Here, you can explore some of the surprises I've experienced over the years. I hope it will inspire you to go out there and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.
Biography
A fascination for nature usually lasts a lifetime. Mine started when I was just a kid and was encouraged by my parents. After that, I studied forestry and nature conservation at Larenstein, specialising in landscape ecology. Currently I work as a bee researcher at Wageningen UR and hope to complete my PhD thesison the small hive beetle some time soon. When time permits, I take pictures. My main subjects are insects and their environment. Even so, you can find a variety of pictures in my portfolio. If your interested in using them, please get in touch about the terms & conditions.
